High Commissioner, H.E. Mr. Vurobaravu Presents His Credential to the President of Fiji, H.E. Mr. Konrote

The Vanuatu High Commissioner, His Excellency Mr. Nikenike Vurobaravu presented his credential to the President of the Republic of Fiji His Excellency, Mr. Jioji Konrote today 14th November, 2017. This is just after the Head of State His Excellency Mr. Tallis Moses Obed accredited and commissioned him on the 12th October.

This marks his second term to the Vanuatu Mission in Fiji after he was recalled by the then government of 2015. His appointment to another term signifies the trust and capability of his leadership and determination heading the Suva mission in strengthening Vanuatu bilateral relationship with the Fiji government and its people.

In his new capacity as High Commissioner, Excellency Mr. Vurobaravu emphasis on the Government of the Republic of Vanuatu in strengthening and to deepen its relation of friendship and good understanding with the Government and people of the Republic of Fiji, which are rooted in a common cultural values and heritage, historical ties of cultural and technical co-operation, and the shared aspirations for a sustainable development of both respective countries and the region at large.

On another note he stated, his term in office his core mission is to develop capacity building of the office and human resources to enable the government of Vanuatu better understand and appreciate Fiji’s perspective on issues of common interest, secure opportunities in particular strengthening its trade and socio-economic relation, and to further enhance its technical and cultural cooperation that are of mutual benefit.

Fiji is a strategic country and location for Vanuatu benefits in terms of its trade, investment, education, health and agriculture which Vanuatu will be more pragmatic in its deliverables and achieving its corporate objectives. Moreover, regional and international organizations permanent representation in Fiji is an advantage of Vanuatu mission continuous engagement and linking resources and technical cooperation focuses on capacity building by relevant agencies.

The mission will continue to support and engage with the Fiji government in its day to day work and facilitating consular activities and representing Vanuatu at the forums and related regional and international meetings pursuing its government wishes and interest. The President of Fiji warn welcomes him and is happy to receive him on behalf of the government and the people of Fiji because its common issues and its diplomatic and cultural ties.
